Our day camps let learners develop essential leadership and group skills alongside their classmates-all from the safety and convenience of your school. This is also an affordable solution for schools since it avoids extra costs for transportation, accommodation and meals.
How does it work?
Learners come to school as usual, and participate in a structured day with the same exciting activities and measurable learning outcomes they'd experience at our off-site camps. At the end of the day, they simply head home, just like a regular school day!
Program Options
Schools can choose from half-day, full-day or two-day experiences, held on the school fields and tailored to your specific grade levels and objectives. Each program includes engaging activities, rotations and breaks, and is designed to suit different age groups. Programs for multiple grades can even be scheduled over consecutive days. Our SCAS staff & facilitators are handpicked and trained to lead each group in meaningful, energetic experiences. They bring the excitement and expertise that make the day unforgettable. Learners will work in small teams. We bring all the equipment needed for each activity.
Programs are enhancing the school curriculum, well-structured, with an array of activities - providing learners with the opportunity of experiencing interactive learning in nature. But it is also fun and adventurous. Programs are based on experimental learning principles, which means learning takes place through goal orientated activities. It is presented in Afrikaans, English or dual medium as requested.

Campsite
'Die Eiland' Campsite and Outdoor TrainingCentre is situated 4,5 km outside Stellenbosch, in the beautiful forest and mountains of Jonkershoek. It is an awesome place for schools, youth, churches, family reunions or other group camps.

Programer: Mini-Olympics, Amazing Race, Clever Heads, Explorer, Meal Challenges, Sport Ministry Games and more.
Staff (SCAS): Well-trained facilitators and friendly staff.
Note: We can also present camps at different venues and campsites in the Western capes

- Main gate with intercom access: alarm. 24h armed response
- Accommodation (65 beds): 6 units - each with its own ablution (We can accommodate up to 100 people.)
- Separate units for staff. including wi-fi
- Delicious meals (fully equipped kitchen)
- Two multi-function halls (for dining, training & recreation)
- Inverter system and generator if electricity is off
- Big grass area. boma & braai. hiking trails
- Staff stay on the campsite and are available 24/7
Staff
As a team, we are passionate about equipping people with the skills and life experiences they need to succeed in life. Programs are fully facilitated by our trained staff who manage the activities. They are thoroughly trained to comply with our standards and codes of ethics to live out the right values. This also ensures the safety of all, whilst creating a fun and exciting atmosphere.
Safety
Safety is of the utmost importance.
Our accommodation, kitchen and halls are under one roof. We have proper safety measures (incl. SOP) that is non-negotiable. No unannounced guests can come without arrangement of management. At the start of the camp, visitors are thoroughly informed. The main gate works with a intercom, remote and cell phone system.
Tarrifs
We aim to offer high value, high impact programs. Non-negotiable aspects are: excellent program, facilitation, menu and facilities. Groups must get out much more than the value they pay for! We try to accommodate client’s budgets as far as possible.

Arrival and Departure
Check-in in time is normally from 10:00 on the date of arrival, and the checkout time is 10:00 on the date of departure - unless the camp program is different.
